Ex Machina: Review
This fell just out of my 10. 2014 and 2015 were fantastic years for films just slipping under the box office radar. Ex Machina stars the wonderful Alicia Vikander of whom we're likely to see plenty more of considering her recent oscar win for The Danish Girl. The film also stars an Oscar with the second name Isaac, and the popular Domhnall Gleeson. It is written by a very talented screenwriter by the name of Alex Garland, and this is his debut in directing too. I like most people had no problems with this film, I found it gripping, intriguing and gorgeous throughout. I thought the technical properties of the film are standout alone, but the performances do the film extreme amounts of justice too. The reason it wasn't in my 10 favourites is purely because there isn't enough space, I had no problem with this film however the majority of those 10 I picked changed my emotions so drastically and this simply isn't designed to be hard-hitting or nostalgic or bursting with said emotion. Nevertheless it'll be remembered for some time.
